What to expect at Class of '47

Class of '47 was established in 1977 and is a local's favorite bar on Balboa Peninsula in Newport Beach. It's located right by the iconic Balboa Ferry, Fun Zone and Pavilion. With two pool tables, a humming jukebox, and flat screen TVs playing all the games, this watering hole is where you want to be whether its playoffs, your day off, or Saturday night. Lining the wall you'll see vintage photos of The Duke, John Wayne, who used to frequent this beloved dive.

Okay so I really liked this spot! ...we stumbled into quite a treasure trove! The music was great! Bartender was nice & has a perfect pour!! Slrrrrpp slrrrrp!!! People were nice chatty friendly too :) there was even a cool photo booth. This was a great way to start out our visit to Newport/ Balboa Island today!

A great place to meet locals! The best bartender ever, Jill on Thursday all day! Most friendly and great drinks! Can bring food in from the local restaurants! I highly recommend seeing Jill on Thursday's! Love her!

Fun little dive in Newport Beach! I came here over the weekend and it was so fun! I loved the dollars pinned to the ceiling, funny and random decor. This was our last stop on the pub crawl and it did not disappoint. The drinks were reasonably priced and everyone at the bar was very friendly.

Great bar! My husband and I stopped in for a couple drinks and to watch part of the Angels game. The bartender was nice and the place had a very relaxed vibe. They had 2 pool tables so we decided to play a couple games while we finished our drinks. Everyone in the bar was very friendly and laid back which is what I love about this place.

Drinks are so reasonably priced here, I was able to buy a round for myself and a few friends. I would definitely come here again deal or no deal.

Yet another dive bar on my list. Great place, lots of pool tables, a jukebox and big buck hunter. Super stiff drinks at reasonable prices and super divey, comfortable atmosphere. Came here on a Friday morning (don't judge) and had my mom and grandma with me. We started to get after it a little bit with some Irish coffees and were surprised by running (almost literally) into Dennis Rodman.

You never know what you are gonna get here. A famous person maybe. A super nice bartender who hooks up the pours. Or a bad ass pool game you will never forget. With dollar bills stapled on the ceiling from famous and non famous people. This is definitely a must visit. Kaitlyn and Ashley are my favorites, I highly suggest stopping in to check this place out!
